SKull-A-Day’s last Braincase

It’s a sad day, but we have mixed emotions. Skull-A-Day has just posted their last Braincase with a bucket-load of fun skull images. We’re sad because we only recently discovered the Skull-A-Day blog. We’re happy to announce though, that the girlmonsters made it in. We’re mentioned eighth down with a couple of links Abby Cadaver’s blog and Betty Bones’ blog and the official girlmonsters site were mentioned by name. We feel so proud and honored to have been noticed at all among the great submissions they publish.

I love a day at the YMCA!

This should have been mentioned sooner, but monsters are always late in their announcements, aren’t they?
If you happen to live in New York City, the GirlMonsters will be displayed at the Prospect Park YMCA, 357 9th Street (between 5th & 6th avenues), in Park Slope. A Short walk from the R train’s 9th Street stop or the F train’s 7th Avenue stop.
Artist, Kurt Marquart is showing a print of his recent GirlMonsters’ Picnic, and giving away activity books to the first 100 kids. Two different postcards will be given away too. Plenty for everyone.
Of course there will be a number of local Brooklyn artists showing work, so brave the rain May 16, 2008 6:00pm to 9:00pm. See you there!

Monsters on lunch break!

The GirlMonsters’ Abby Cadaver along with her blog, Abby Cadaver’s Reveue de Jitters have been mentioned and linked on Lunch Break Comics. It’s the official site of illustrator Pat Lewis. Abby recently reviewed The Claws Come Out on her blog. Now she wishes her review was more comprehensive. Readers should know she found the book delicious! She hopes she can some day pick Pat Lewis’ brain. It’s probably very tasty as well.

The GirlMonsters have returned from their hidey hole behind your sugar bowl, and they have great news! Each of the GirlMonsters has started her own blog. They chose to blog about some of their favorite things.

• Abby Cadaver’s Reveue de Jitters where she will review her favorite movies, music, books, and websites. Now and then, maybe she’ll share a recipe.
• LilyBat’s Bogey News will be a place where she will inform us of when the bogeys and monsters make the news. There is also a Google news tracker at the bottom of her page with monster keywords that will surely find the spookiest and creepiest news.
  
• Betty Bones’ Tattle & Chatter is where Betty will do what she does best. Gossip.
  
• DeMonica’s Mood & Mode will be all about her mood on style and fashion. She doesn't hold back, so prepare for some devilish comments.
